hey guys
I have this problem in my 77 F-150 400m. At least i think it is a problem. My gas pedal has a sticky spot in it and somtimes when i acceletate the pedal sticks. At that moment i feel a jolt as if some thing in the drive train is loose and is just now turning and coming into contact. When this happens i feel the gas pedal sink down a little. Any ideas of what this could be and is it serious.
thanks
David

I believe that it only does this in first gear excep for the sticking. It will stick throughout all the gears. How do i tell if it is missing a spring?
Thanks

[font color=red size=2]A friend had a '78 that was sticking like that, we just sprayed the joints of the throttle linkage with lube and it stopped. When it was sticky, it would clunk too. Ended up it was just the jarring of the sudden acceleration and a little slack in the driveline. Check the driveline over for looseness or slack. I bet once you fix the sticky throttle, you won't notice a clunk anymore - try it out.
