i replaced the ign switch on the colum and to my suprise the rod moves sideways instead of straight, will not start the truck, help on changing rod would be deeply appreciated,
ford bronco 1988,5.0 4x4 full sized, fully loaded with tilt,cruize,air power windows,rear power windows and it is a collum shift automatic.
You my want to pull your switch out agianand see if you got it in right. I don'dt thinnk it should be moving any differant than what was in it before, or you got the wrong switch.
you probley did not understand my problem, the rod is moving to the side where the key switch is at, not at the electrical end. it is in the upper part of the steering column collor where the key is at.all else is ok
i took my steering column out completely and had absolutely no trouble replacint everything with components. i dont think u should have started that project. lol
i just wanted to say thanks for alowwing me in your forums, the problem was in the yoke and the slide was wore out, changing the collor and everything is ok now, thanks for all the advice.
Could you plase tell me what you had to do to fix this ? I recently had this happen to mine and was starting to think I might have to replace the whole steering colum.
