thats what i had thought about for the gear ratio, thanks.
For the tire issue, I was originally going to purchase Bridgestone Dueler A/T size 235/75SR15 and those are OE size. A friend suggested buying BFG All Terrains in size 265. My Explorer will be seeing offroad conditions this year and for some to follow, I was wondering if it would make much of a difference, if they even fit, having no clearence issues or handling advantages. These will be on stock rims.

I am interested in purchasing new tires for my explorer too. I am looking to upgrade to a few sizes bigger, something that would come on a 4Runner for example. Is that ok with the stock 15in rims? Will the ride or handling suffer? Thx
