Number on engine block?

Number on engine block?
I have a stock 337 flathead engine in my F-7. Located on the engine block are some stamped numbers. Any ideas what they mean or what there for? They are located on the left side on the block between the intake manifold and the left head. I have attached a link to a picture in my gallery.

I don't know if this applies to the 337 or not, works with the smaller Ford/Merc Flatheads.
