Hello
My Name is Jeff. I am in a fortunate position of owning a 2003 Yukon Denali and having a very close friends that own a 2003 Expedition. We travel together with our wives and frequently drive each others SUV's. I see pluses and minuses with both rigs and like them both. They each have their place in the market today, both causing the other to stay on their toes and force the other to try to create a superior vehicle. The problem however today is with the Expedition, which has the 5.4 engine has developed a mis on cyls... 6 and 8. With 60,000 plus miles on it we decided to check the coils. We found that just cleaning boots and coil helped, but is this problem inherent with these models and engines? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some older model expy's had problems with number 4 (water getting into the COP) but the trouble with your application could be any number of reasons. I suspect you removed some carbon tracking that was shorting the ignition to ground.
