jd, do you think it would be too much of a pita to completely convert to an integral PS system? It seems that would be a better steering set up. Prolly alot of work though.
Tell me more about this Turlock swap meet. How big is it? Good stuff???
Tim
Ive got a cousin that lives in turlock. Is the swapmeet held at the fair grounds.I think ive been there before.its on the south side of town isnt it?I can remember that turlock had a real nice bowling alley that got turned into some wierd church of some kind.
Stockton Picknpull eh? Do you think they would allow a bunch of greasy FTE'ers BBQ'n burgers in the parking lot. Sounds like a Saturday function to me...
Well, maybe after it warms up a bit. Whatdya think?
The swap meet is held at the fairgrounds just use the Fulkerth exit from the freeway and head east. It is usualy a pretty big affair, the only bad part is it is in January and it almost always rains just before leaving everything muddy.
Pic-N-Pull BBQ hmmmmm you think the Taco truck will let us?
Maybe we can work something out with them to get some kind of a discount.
Yuck, are you saying human road kill tacos? Eeew, They'll never taste the same. Thanks for the thought Mike.
At least at an FTE meet, you wouldn't have to worry about choking on a bow tie

The TURLOCK SWAP MEET always takes place during the last full weekend in January. In 2006, the Swap Meet will take place January 28-29, 2006. The hours of operation are Saturday, 7 AM to 5 PM and Sunday, 7 AM to 3 PM. Admission is $5.00 at the gate, children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. http://www.turlockswapmeet.com/
This is the one put on by the Model A club - there is one about every 3 months put on by different people.
You guys want to do a mini meet there? If so, count me in - provided you give enough advance warning so I can plan my winter trip.
Willie, what kind of stuff to they usually have there. I don't have anything older that my 74 F250 4X4, (well I also have a 68 corvette but don't like to advertise a piece of chevy in the family). The Model A club is what alerts me to practicality for my needs. It REEEEALLY is a long drive for me. ALthough, a meet of any nature would be a cool thing, Summer is an easier time to travel with the wife and merge trips for practicality purposes. You know, stop in on an FTE meet on the way to the Northern Cali Coast with the Travel Trailor or something.
So, do you think there would be cool stuff that would be suitable for me or maybe is there stuff a guys wife would appreciate? Whatdthey got? Sounds like a BIG event eh?
Jeez - one man's junk is another mans gold - but I do understand the question. I have never been to the winter meet, but I understand it is well attended. You will see all the west coast venders of speciality items - POR 15, chrome, things like that. There is also a lot of junk. I bought an 3 speed aux trans for my truck there one year. My dad bought hydraulic brakes setup for this model A there.
Last time I went I saw about 40 cars and trucks for sale - some finished, some just drug out of a field. If I was looking for a project I would expect to find one there.
There is not much for the female side - or maybe I just don't notice that sort of thing. Wild horses could not drag my wife to such an outing.
Don't forget that the weather is a big question this time of year. It could be rain, or bad fog, or a nice 70 degree day.
Maybe JD can tell us more about what will be there.
Given the miles you would have to travel I would wait for one in Reno - and I would meet you there (Reno) even if there was no swap meet.
Well ***** is right.
They have everything for restoration and for everyday maintenance. They have a car lot set up if you want to get rid of a car or buy a car or truck. They have towing accessories, tires, high performance low performance. They have all makes and models. I believe I even saw some motorcycle parts. You can even find antique pots and pans and stuff like that.
I'll be going probably on Saturday, Plan on at least half a day if you walk fast.
Theres a Ford dealer just up the street maybe we can see if they will let us set a meet there prior to going to the meet for intros. Maybe breakfast or something.
