Red has the advantage of being noticed by those enforcing laws. White on the other hand has the advantage of being a stealth/sleeper and is preferred by those who although are probably deserving of attention prefer to win without a large fine.
You have to remember they use a red cape when bull fighting to enrage the bull, remember that the next time you drive by Officer Bob Speed.
Besides, red is also used by women of ill repute.

That would be grey and it is a color although some sites show that grey and black are identical. Maybe we should define what a color is?
Mark, white is a color; the sum of all colors. Think of a beam of pure light hitting a prism and the rainbow you then get as in the album cover from Pink Floyd's dark side of the Moon. Black is the absence of color.
Ok, a little more of an explanation: White wins
If you will notice, Red is at the lower end of the spectrum.

I had way too much free time on my hands in school (an hour to do nothing but sit), found that site, pretty funny. I guess my light pastel BLUE truck blends into the environment pretty darn well....especially in the snowy months.

But still RED is the dominate color and the color of choice if you want to win.
