engine swap
i have found a 390/c6 for my 68 f100. with a 6cyl. s/trans. how much trouble am i going to encounter? I KNOW ENGINE PERCHES have to be changed but will trans. mount work off my s/trans? acc. linkage linkage or change to cable,floor shift,will headers be in the way? just trying to cover all bases. no surprises needed.

the fe and inline 6 perches are the same. you just need to move them back to the other holes. the trans crossmember should also work. the radiator will be different. headers will work but you'll need a heat shield for the starter. you can make one easily. shifter is a matter of choice. you could look for a column, a factory auto through 72 is hard to come by or you could us a 73 to 79 and wire up the column to work with your harness. lots of options, just a matter of what your ability and comfort level is. oh, and wallet.
