302 build advice please.

I'm building my 302 for my 64 f100 and have a few questions.
My goal is 300 RWHP and I will run a 100 shot of Nitrous for a little extra kick in the butt.

So far my engine is stock bottom end roller block with factory forged flat top pistons.
My cam came with the engine and I was told it was a lunati. I mesured the lift at .502/.512 and I believe the duration 276/282 IIRC.
I'm using a set of Iron GT40 heads with some mild port work. Basically cleaned up the ports and made them a little bigger, not much though.
For induction I'm using an Ofenhauser 360 dual plain manifold with a 1" spacer and Holley 4150 750 CFM with vacume secondaries.

My goals are reliable daily driver capability with good low and midrange power and torque.
I'm also dressing this engine to look like a HIPO 289 from the 60's for that sleeper/ period look.

I havn't decided on wich headers to go with. Any sugestions? Long or short tube? Brand, Style?

I believe the GT40's have 64cc Combustion chambers. Correct me if I'm wrong. What is the compression ratio when using this set up?

This engine was sold to me with less than 2k miles on a rebuild. But Just to be sure I'm going to tear it down replace seals and rings and measure all the bearing tollerances for peice of mind. Anyone have a favorite piston ring? Should I just go with a set of ford racing rings?

With this set up is 300 RWHP likely?

Last question is there any info on the web with torque specs on all the bolts for the engine (i.e. main caps, rod journals, ect)

Thanks,
Mike

Don't know about comp ratio, will have to have piston specs for that. As far as headers I think I would stick with hedmann ceramic coated truck headers, 3/8 flanges 14 guage tubing and 3" collectors for around 250 from summit racing if I'm not mistaken

I put together a little Excel spreadsheet (yeah, I'm an engineer) that is helping me with looking at compression ratios based on different piston dish levels (cc's) and head chamber sizes. A stock 302 with 64cc heads should give you the following CR's with corresponding dish cc's:

0 cc's = 9.2
1 cc = 9.08
2 cc's = 8.96
3 cc's = 8.85
4 cc's = 8.74
5 cc's = 8.63
6 cc's = 8.52

Also, I've been told that there is no use in putting headers on if you going with shorties (especially on a truck where there should be lots more room).

The stock HO forged pistons have about a .030 dish, not flat tops. They come with E7TE heads with about the same cc's as the GT 40's and have about 9.3-1 compression ratio. I would think your set up would give about 300 + HP at the flywheel off the bottle. Bill Hanson.
