Gearing advice
1. torqueshift trans
2. run predator tuner (always in 65 hp mode)
3. Banks exhaust (4 inch turbo back)
4. has been reflashed once since bought--runs great.
Thanks for any input!!
Given your comments it sounds like you may have already read throught it but just in case, don't forget to check out the tech folder.

Those temps seem really high. I tow a 30' Toy Hauler that usually weighs in around 10,000 lbs around the Southern California mountains to Big Bear, Borrego Springs, Lancaster, and up and over the grapevine.
My tranny temps are usually in the 170 to 190 deg range. The only time that they've gone up over 200 deg were during a 10s of miles bumper to bumper stop and go traffic jam on the 10 E one time. As soon as I started moving and getting some air through the cooler the temps dropped right back down.
So unless it is a really heavy ski boat, I can't see why your temps should be so high even with 35" tires.
That said, regearing wouldn't hurt. The trucks are geared a bit tall from the factory IMH. The standard gearing should have been more like 4.10 given that so many super duties are used to tow or haul. This is confirmed in my mind by the fact that the Tow Boss option now offered uses a 4.30 gear ratio.
Anyway, if you wanted to get back to the same overall gearing as a stock truck, you would want gearing that is (35"/31.65") * 3.73 = 4.125. 4.10 is the closest choice.
If I was going to the expense of regearing and staying with the 35" tires, I'd probably go with the 4.30s myself.
What kind of gauge package do you have and what kinds of EGTs are you running while towing?
Also, how close does your gauge read to ambient temps when the truck has been sitting for several hours? It might just be that the tranny temp gauge is off - just a thought.

Daryl,
Thanks for the response. I'm running Auto Meter guages (EGT, Boost, Oil Temp). Perhaps, the guage could be an explanation for high temps--it's not a tranny temp gauge, it's oil temp guage connected to transmission line. Could this be the problem?? As for my EGTs, they are not excessive when towing 1150--1200. It should be noted that my transmission temp never moves beyond 180 except when towing up steep grades and then drops down quickly to 180.
