I just bought a brand new weind stealth intake manfold and I need a carb for it and all I have is a holley 750 dp list# 4779 and 7295. It was sitting in my shop for over ten years since last used but it is in like new condition and looks useable. I really don't want to buy a new carb so is there a way I could keep everything stock for now including the cam and just re-jet it to make it work with my 302. Everything is stock except the intake mainfold. I think it has #70 jets what is the smallest they make for this carb. Help is appreciated. I know this sounds kinda dumb but this is all I have to use.
Even jetted down all the way it's going to be to big for a stock 302. You will want to change the pump cam so it doesn't put such a big shot all at once off idle, then start trying different jets to see if you can get it to run ok for now. your gas mileage is not going to be very good. good luck
I will maybe try to make this carb run on a stock 302 but I can guarentee it won't be the best. I might trade it for a smaller 600 CFM carb but I do not know who would want it. It's too bad though cause it's in excellent shape. I will see, does anybody have any experince on this situation?
Alll I can say, is that Shelby installed 750 double pumpers on his GT 350 Mustangs. That's how he got 305 hp from a 289 engine rated at 371 horse. (among a few other mods) It can be jetted to make it run just fine.Gas mileage and throttle response won't be the best, but it can be done.
