Tranny ?'s
My mom has a 1990 f-150 4x4 shortbed pickup with a I-6 and 5speed. The other day the tranny started binding up and eventually got stuck in reverse. Right now you can put in the nuetral position and its still in reverse. What tranny is in these trucks.....is it the zf-5?? Also anybody got any good places to start looking for another tranny, or have a clue what may be wrong. Thanks

That truck has the M5OD which is well known for its problems to be honest. The ZF was only used in the f-250's and 350s behind the 351's, 460's, and PSD's. Not sure if it was used behind others. But if you have an F-150 with a manual, Its the M5OD.
I would personally pull the shifter out of the tranny and inspect for any broken parts. Someone actually just had the same trouble and posted it on here, so you might want to search back a page or two and see what you can find!
