I could not justify spending an extra $5000+ when i rarely tow anything, so a 5.4 works for me

''Since when is horsepower important to a diesel anyway? I thought torque was more important.''

the v-10 has more horsepower than the 6.0 stock but the 6.0 has more torque than the v10 stock.

I know. I was trying to get some logical explanation from our diesel friend of why it was imporantant to him to add 170HP for $1000.

I meant the $5000 more, on average, that a diesel engine costs, over a gasser. Not knocking diesel engines at all though.

Let's not go into the whole gas vs. diesel thing or this thread will be locked. Keep it on track. Thanks.

Back to the topic. A dealer in my city has two sitting on his lot. One was a demo (the owner drove it around) and the other is brand new. Those trucks look SWEET!

Yeah, I liked that color ever since it came out on the mustang back in the mid 90's. I wonder how much it would cost to have a truck repainted?

Well if some of you have seen my posts over on the Excursion page. I was waiting on my financing paperwork from my bank, and they sold the vehicle out from under me.
At the same Ford dealer, I saw an 06 F250 Amarillo Pkg Diesel 4x4 on the lot for 20k. I looked it up online and it was comperable to the deal we worked on the Excursion. The truck has been sitting on the lot for 5-6 months. I have driven past it in the past. Yes, yellow is a hard sell, even when used and 127K on the odometer. Even though the thing is immaculate, the interior looks like a normal 06 vehicle. The oasis report shows the vehicle has never been in the shop for a warranty related problem.

Now, my first new truck was a 99 Dakota in Solar Yellow. I bought it shortly before dating my wife. I showed the truck to the wife, and she instantly loved it.

I figure it must all be highway miles. When dealing with a diesel highway miles are much better than around town use. Got any opinions on a 127,000 mi truck.

If OASIS is clean and the truck is clean, and you like it, I'd say go for it. I still love my truck, but the mileage is only so-so, and the towing ability could be better. I have 83K on it and the only warranty issue was one EGR valve.

No, they don't. Apparently you haven't been by in the last 10 months...
Koons Ford of Rockville shut it's doors March 5th last year. I pass their empty building/lot every day.
Maybe you mean Annapolis or Baltimore.

I bought a PSD at Ourisman (closed) and an Escape at Koons Rockville (Closed).
Guess I need to stay away from 'em, I must be bad luck, LOL!

Steve, look at the date on bgrover's post, it's over three years old. This thread was resurrected from the dead.
