ESOF Question

My 04 F-350 is stuck in 4wd. The fuse was blown in the panel so I replaced it and it blew again after a couple minutes. Could something under the truck be froze, not allowing the return to 2wd. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the motor on the t-case is stuck.

Put it in 4wd, replace the fuse, have someone sit in the truck while you crawl underneath. Once you can see the motor, have them try to put it in 2WD. If the motor makes no noise or sounds like it is stuck, that may be your problem. The other thing is it may be binding if you are doing it while the truck is stationary. Having the truck moving keeps the driveline from binding up while going from 2 to 4H.

The only other thing it might be is a short and that you'd have to trace.

Chk the connectors to the motor for water intrusion. We always put extra dilectric grease in them to prevent the water from getting in.
