16 Spline D60 ?????
Ok Ya'll I gots a question.
I am trying to order a Spool for my 76 D60 Rear and the guy says what is the Spline count? So I pulled the Shaft out and OMG it only has 16 count?????
Now what kind of Crap is that and how do I order a Spool for it?

chances are pretty good that the axle is older than 76... they had that spline count up to until about 72- give or take... i had one and ran into your same problem.. if you're looking at a spool you're gonna toss the spiders any ways and don't care about street manners. i'd weld it tight and call it macaroni..
weld the side gears to the spiders, not the sides to the case. welding side gears to the case are really strong but then you're case is junk forever.. if you just weld it, you'll save the hundred or so on a spool and i'd start checking boneyards for a finer spline rearend, you may even get lucky and find a limited slip, i did, only paid $150... best of luck...

Thanks bud I appresheate the responce My Gear guy just found me a D70 rear 35 spline and locker fer $200 so that is the rout I'm going .
