Here is something that you can do that will cost next to nothing and take almost not time.
If you want to mount your spare tire standing up along the side of the box and your truck didn't come with the factory hardware. Take a piece of 2x4 and cut it to 19"...it will stand up along the side with the top behind the lip at the top of the box. Now measure the distance from the bottom of the spare to the top lug hole and drill a 1/2" hole at that distance up the 2x4. Take about 8" of 1/2" threaded rod and attach it through the hole with a couple of washers and nuts. With the 2x4 standing up on the side of the box and the threaded rod sticking out stand your spare up with the rod going through. Use a nut and washer or make a wing nut by drilling and threading a piece of flat stock and screwing the spare against the side. That's it.
