Larger Brakes
Do all the F-250 Superdutys come with the same brakes? I am looking at buying an 06 F-250 4X4 Lariat Crew Cab PSD. It has factory upgraded 18 in. BFG but another truck has factory upgraded 20 in. Goodyears. The 20's are about a $1200 option vs. the 18's which are about a $250 option. I was going to ask the dealer to put the 20's on it instead of the 18's just beacuse I like the way the larger tires and wheels look and I think the Goodyears are a better tire. Other than recalibrating the speedometer and the odometer, will anything else have to be done to make it like it came from the factory with the 20's? Do the 20's have larger brakes or anything like that or is it just a matter of swapping the wheels and tires and recalibaring the speedometer and odometer? Also, how hard is that to do? Is it similar to downloading a new flash to the computer?
Finally, am I going away from home to swap these wheels and tires? Is it really worth it or am I asking for trouble? What about ride quality?
