00 EXPY Dome light overide

Just bought 2000 Expedition and I can't find anyway to override domelights with rear hatch open. Any ideas short of puting in a switch?

Just wait 45 minutes and they will go off...Seriously look for a purple wire with white stripe behind the left rear pillar cover (right behind the 3rd row seat belt) I spliced mine to a nice rocker switch that is mounted in the little 3 inch by 2 inch cover that snaps in where the left seatbelt goes to the inertia real.

I thought that was going to be case. Just wanted to make sure I was not missing something.

You can just push the latch at the bottom of hatch to the closed position, make sure you push it all the way in. YOU MUST UNLOCK IT BEFORE CLOSING THE HATCH.

thanks I use to do that with my old explorer but it was easier with the latches on the side.

P.S. I have not cut up anything on this truck yet, gotta start somewhere guess it's time for a switch
