1974 ford heater coil replace?

I got in my truck today and noticed there was antifreeze on the floor. It must be the heater coil leaking. I looked under the dash and saw the big fiberglass box/ductwork under there... How do you remove this to change the coil? It looks like the box is rivited together. Are there bolts or screws on the firewall side?

If your truck does not have A/C, it's pretty easy. You have to disconnect the two control cables (choke cable) from the plastic housing, otherwise it hangs up on removal. There are three studs sticking through the firewall. Remove the nuts. Remove the water hoses from the gozinta/gozouta fittings on the passenger/engine side firewall. Last but not least, there is a bolt just to the right side of the glove compartment securing the plastic to the side of the cab. It will pretty much finesse its way out from under the dash.

Take a peak at the back of the plastic stuff and replacing the heater core (and fan while you are in there) will be very apparent.

If you have factory air, I have no idea.
