Radio Wire Harness Question
Radio Wire Harness Question
I've got a question about the radio wire harness for a '77 F-250 if anyone could help me out. I tried installing a CD player out of one of my other trucks this weekend, but was cut short. I pulled everything apart so I could see what I was up against, and the truck has a one plug wire harness, so I went to Best Buy to get a wire harness for the radio so I could just plug the two together, but they told me no one makes them for a truck that old, and I would have to hard wire it. I can't find anything to tell me what each color wire represents on the wire harness in the truck. Does anyone have this info? I'd appreciate the help. Thanks.

Radio Wire Harness Question
See if this makes any sense. Assuming you had an AM/FM Stereo to begin
with:
Y-BK = power source
BL-R = illumination lamp
O = left speaker +
W = right speaker +
P = left and right speaker - (it "Y's" out into two wires at the next
connector)
Looks like the radio chassis needs to be grounded somehow for the return
path on the schematic. If you need a constant power for the memory, you
can tap into the cigar lighter (GR-Y) Haven't torn into one of these
"late model" truck radios, could be all wrong.
