I have a 92 f150 4x4 5.0 5 speed, ! I just bought the truck, and well last week we had got some snow so i locked my hubs in screwed around trying to get it in to 4 h range (linkage is messed up) so finally got it in worked excellent drove around for about an hour worked aesome. Then i put it back in 2hi and never used it for a few days tried it today and i cant get it into 4 hi at all, Had it in for a bit by pressing hard on the 4x4 shifter but soon as u take ur hand of it just pops out! 4 low and neutral and 2hi all work perfect! Just no 4hi, SO today i took of the 4x4 linkage and cleaned it all up good and lubed and greased it works really good now. Never put it back on yet to see if it will make a difference, i really dont think it is. I know the linkages are knowing to go but this one is fine now!
So i got under it after i took the linkage of and pushed the rod goin to the transfer case by hand and put it all the way back towards the bacl of the truck in 2hi pulle it a head one snap ( click) and got tin still only in 2 wheel drive!
WHat is my next step here?? Did anyone else ever have this problem?? Need new transfer case??? ( ihope not) The rear seal on the transfer case is leaking a bit maby its low on fluid i never checked it yet to see But I still dont think that is what is goin on.
Any help be great Thanks alot i wan ta get my monster truck going again!!
