Did you guys see the steering on that thing, looks like he just ran the shaft all the way down to the rack, how is it supposed to absorb bumps.....oh wait, those springs can't flex, problem solved.
Some of you guys posting from the old folks home? It is a show truck and nothing else. Not my style but I can respect his workmanship

Workmanship? That isn't workmanship though...thats a hack job put together as a "show truck" - the only people that would think that is nice or cool is someone who doesn't know whats what under there, or someone w/o taste. It doesn't take much skill to hack something like that together.
Building a truck is about having skill and the pursuit of perfection, it's an art form. It's also about making something functional or useful at the same time. Now, don't get me wrong - some vehicles are just too good to be used - but atleast they COULD BE. That truck is not an example of skill or perfection. It's an example of imitation of a real truck.
Would you respect the workmanship of a carpenter who built furnature that was showed as a beautiful piece of craftsmanship but was put together with 2x4s and glue with a nice top finished to the nuts? I wouldn't...
I respectfully disagree with your statement.

We must not be the only "old folks", if all it could take home was a few "highest truck" trophies. Having the tallest truck at a competition isn't exactly a mark of excellent craftsmanship. But, maybe us "old folks" have different standards than you young whippersnapper's.
