window motor replacement

i have a 91 f-150. i recently noticed a problem with my passenger side window. it won't go down. i have recently had the door off and there is a possiblity that the plug is a little loose but the door lock works fine. also now i would like to know how much of a hassle it is to change the motor. i know you have to grind or drill the rivets but what about unhooking the regulator from the bottom of the window. thanks for all the help and info. keep the good advice coming.

You do not need to unhook the regulator from the window. You will have to drill holes to allow you to get a socket wrench on the bolts that hold the motor to the door. Once these are removed, the motor comes right off.

I've replaced the electric window motors in my 88 f 250 a couple of times. Its been a while, but I seem to remember removing my door mounted speaker for easier access. There are some dimples (three I believe) that need to drilled out for access to the motor bolts. Its not a very difficult job but be careful and watch your fingers.
