Well, I used to run straight 30 in all my cars. My dad travels up north so he run 10-30, and I then changed all the gassers to 10-30 just from consistency. It snowed here last xmas for the first time in 100 years (was pretty cold). 15w-40 or 5w-40 for the blazing heat? Gues I'll have to see what is available at walmart.

I just checked Redlineoil.com's website and the thickest that they offer is 15-40 for diesels. They state that it is a good oil for hot weather.

In fact, after thinking about it. I think I am going to switch to Redline Diesel 15-40. I like the narrower viscosity range versus the Delvac 5-40.

Red Line also seems to offer a number of different types of diesel fuel additives...anyone had experience with them?

I haven't tried any.
I can testify to how good thier Water Wetter is. It greatly increases the coolants ability to carry away excess heat. Completly cured an overheating problem that I had with my '91 460 gasser.

Kwik....Royal Purples version of water wetter...i think its called liquid ice.....is even better then redline in my experiences with it in my car that i race. Was a 10 degree drop going from watter wetter to the royal purple version...going by datalogging of water temps. Just another option.
