I have a 1999 F250 SD (V10). Drove to work with no problems...8 hrs later the truck would only crank and crank. This is what I have done so far.ffice:office" />
- checked fuel...3/4 tank
- checked fuel shutoff under passenger side kick panel...was not popped...reset it anyways.
- checked fuses 5, 7 and 20...all checked good with test light
- got a new fuel relay and swapped it out one at a time with relay 4, 5 and 6...did not know which relay was the fuel relay....nothing changed
- disconnected the fuel line after the filter and before the tank. Cranked the truck and no fuel came out of the line and I do not hear the fuel pump turn on.
- disconnected the wire harness plug going to the fuel pump. Checked the plug with a test light....light did not come on. This plug had four wires (2 red, 1 yellow and 1 black).
- disconnected the plug at the shut off switch under passenger seat kick panel and tested with test light....light did not come on.

Would appreciate any help/advice I could get. I do not know which relay is the for the fuel pump (4, 5, or6). Not sure if I have a bad fuel pump or a lack of power to the fuel pump. Thank you for the help. Todd
As part of your diagnosis, I'd try to apply power to the pump itself and see if it spins. The pump is (I think) a two speed pump, so be sure the wires are correctly connected.
Thanks for all the help. I tried to dtart it with the pedal down 1/4 to 1/2 way and still no luck. I checked fuse 19 and it is good. Could someone tell me how to apply power to the pump itself and see if it spins? Thanks again for all the help! Todd
There are 2 relays for the fuel system. One is the pump relay and one is a hi speed relay in the PCM. key on you should here the pump for a couple of seconds. Have you banged on the tank with a 2x4 or bat yet? Let us know where you are at with it..
