Problem with cold starting. HELP!!
It's been in the teens in the Northeast, and now the Expy doesn't want to start up or stay running. It will start and run if I hold down the throttle a little bit, but once I let off, it stalls.
I put on the OBDII code reader, and got code p0125.
After doing some research, it seems that the thermostat will throw that code, so I'll probably replace it.
However, I don't see how the thermostat would affect the car not running upon immediate start up? Is the computer on open loop, and needs a few starts to reset? Maybe the IAC? Is there a tech article on replacement?
Any other suggestions? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

replace the thermostat for the code and replace the iac , its sticking shut and they do this worse when cold.some people clean them and hav eluck but it might not fix it and you will have to do it again.id just replace it and be done with it.
I wound up pulling off the IAC and giving it a good cleaning. Worked like a charm.
I'll replace the thermostat this weekend. I guess the two weren't related.
Very helpful article... Even tells you the socket sizes...

My expy just seem like it wants to crank very slow when its cold out and the motor is stone cold. I figured my problem is battery related though.
Replacing the ICA is a simple job. An 8mm rachet wrench gets the job done.
