I would like to know if anyone has had any experience using the Eagle SIR Rods rods in a mild 460 build that will have a 6000 RPM limilter? Any one have any thoughts about strenght compared to a stock rod? The info. in Summit claims 50% stronger than a stock rod, but what kinda measurement are they comparing? The ability to handle 700hp, but to what rpms would they be safe?
A guy I know was in the process of rebuilding his 460 and is now on strike and cant finish it and needed the money for christmas. I bought them for $250 and would like to know if they are any good? Thanks Dave
P.S. should i feel guilty for buying these? He put the price on them and i still feel like an *** for it.
dont feel bad you got a great set of rods i run the same rods in my 472 pulling truck and i can take it up to 7000rpm's but i wouldnt recomened it for long period of time you said you will have a 6000 rev limit than you should be just fine and i was told they r good up to 750 hp and 7500 rpm but you got a good deal but you didnt steel them you can get the same rods on ebay for around 300.00-350.00 you willl rilly like theses rods they come with arp rod bolts and if your not balnicing the motor the rods from my experince are well balenced i would trust summit about the 50% stronger
