4wd not working

Guys,

I am sorry for the noob question, (and I have searched the boards) but am pressed for time (the truck is being sold).

My 4wd does not work. The transfer case engages but I hear a clicking/grinding noise from the front end, (loud). I have not taken the hubs apart but this is what I am assuming. Correct me if I am wrong. There is no obvious signs of damage to the front componentry and all appears well. The hubs are warn and appear older.

My second question is my front fuel tank is not workiing. I have looked for a relay or fuse, but have found nothing. Is there one or does this mean the in-tank pump is out?

I really appreciate the time and don't worry it is being replaced by a nice f-250.

Does it have the auto hubs? If not make sure the hub locks are turning freely and go to the lock position. It's possible that the auto hubs are bad if it has them.

No. It has the manual hubs. The one on the right feels as though it is "clicking in", where as the one on the left does not seem to engage.

This is where I am am thinking the grinding noise is coming from do to the variance in locked hubs?

That's possible. You can get warn replacements at most auto parts stores. They are a little pricey, but you can also tack it onto the selling price.
