1995 4.9 timing degrees????????????????

I need information. Here is the deal. I rebuilt a 1988 4.9 and installed it into a 1995 F-150, 4WD, auto E4OD. It runs pretty good but I had to guess at the timing. All my books say get the degree of timing from the under the hood sticker but there is no under the hood sticker. And even if there was it would be for a 1995 4.9. So my question is "with the spout removed what is the idle timing of a 1988 4.9 hooked up to a 1995 computer and sensors"? I would appreciate any help or ideas! Thanks!

For most 300s the timing is 10 Degrees. There should be a large v notch on the timing plate.

Block, crank, pistons and cam are the same as a 95 and if you are using the 95 computer and ignition then go with all 95 specs. 10 degrees with the spout disconnected. Time it off the passenger side of the cover just under the alternator. Dont use the big notch on the balancer, use the thin line scribed on there. You might have to hit it with a scotchbrite pad to clean it up and mark it with chalk. The bigger v notch should be your 10 degree mark.
