shop manual advice

Would anyone care to weigh in on the most useful shop manual available for this era f150 (1966).

1966? you're in the wrong section. this is for 87-96 P/Us. however, if that's a typo and you meant 1996, i'd suggest the Haynes manual. it's a little more user-friendly than the Chilton's IMO.

No matter what the year--I would suggest the Ford Shop Manual. Try one of the sponsers of this site--or try Ebay.

if you have access to Snap-On ShopKey5 thats your best bet. i assume tho that you mean the best paper manual...on that i'll agree with Whiteyford with the haynes manual

ford shop manuals are the best.

actually the shop manual for any vehicle from the manufacturer is the best.

i looked at snap-on shopkey price, just for trucks $1,500. up to $5,000 for domestic and imported vehicles.

a little too expensive for me.

I've got Haynes and Ford Shop Manuals. Haynes are pretty good for most things and the Ford Shop Manual for backup. There are also guys on eBay that sell bootlegged copies of Shop Manuals on CD for cheap, under $10.
