Hi. I rebuilt my 351 cleveland and it has a sort of weird noise that appears to be coming from the valvetrain. I had the heads redone with all new parts and I dunno. When It's idling, it sounds O.K. When it's decelerating, it sounds O.K.
When you give it gas, it makes a V-r-r-r-r-r-r-r sound, kind of like a sewing machine. One fellow said I might have weak springs - I did put in a very slightly larger cam... one step up from stock..... someone else told me one of my pushrods might be the wrong size. I ordered a new set of those from Summit, when I rebuilt it, but I dunno. He suggested adjustable roller rockers.
Any ideas? I'm all ears.
THanks!

My 351 did the same thing when I rebuilt it, I have gone as far as to pull the top of the motor completely apart to try and find the reason it does it. unfortunately I didnt find anything. I have seen a few other posts about this problem and there hasnt been any fixes yet. hopefully someone will kick in with a fix. my only thought is that since I have headers on it that maybe im hearing the valves clicking on the heads??? I have roller fulcrums in mine also and thought that could be the noise. I have about 5000 HARD miles on mine and it hasnt broke down yet. good luck
