power steering pump

power steering pump

my power steering system has been slowly leaking from somewhere. the pump seems to always be damp, so thats where i'm assuming it's leaking from. anyway. i just got a reman'd pump from the parts store. anywho. it came with some o-rings, what are these for? for the hoses? also, how difficuly is this to do? i have the pully puller so...

It came with a reservoir. i just have to reuse my pully.

How big are these "O" Rings?

the o rings are for the hoses. if you have a pulley puller then you should be fine. just be VERY careful not to ruin the thread on the bolt(s)!!!

oh! and be very careful not to break the nipple off for the bottom hose(return hose?) the one i got was plastic and i killed it, had to return it and they barely took it back

ok turns out that it's the gearbox leaking and not the pump. Errr.... so i'll be filling the pump every so often and replacing the gear box later.
