i have a 1989 ford f-150 with a 6 in super lift in, with blocks in the rear. the factory block is stacked on top of the lift block. the problem is i the truck does not sit level. i would like to level the truck out by either removing the factory block, or installing new leaf springs with a built-in 6 in. lift, also i have considered buying 4 in. leaf springs and using the fctory block to level out the truck. Any information or suggestions would be very helpful.
Blocks aren't the greatest way to go for lift. They cause alignment problems (but so does muddin your truck) I would suggest a shackle flip and removal of the 2 in. factory blocks if you want to keep it lifted as high as it is now. Then adding leveling springs to the front to raise the front that extra 1 1/2-2 inches.
If you don't need all the lift that you have/ want better gas mileage, the way to go would be to remove one set of blocks from the rear. It will most assuredly ride smoother with only one set of blocks.
Hope that helps, i'm not crazy into lift/leveling like some folks.
thanks for the help Matt, i know i want to keep the 6 inches of lift thats one it right now i think i might go with either a 6 inch leaf spring and take both blocks out, or get 4 inch springs and take out the lift block. also later on i'm considering swapping out the superlift coil springs (even though they're only a year old they're sagging) for skyjacker ones, or if the money is there i might convert it to a strait-axle with a dana 44
