has any body heard of many problems with the head gaskets going on the 6.0ltr?. Our work trucks are all 6.0ltr and 2 out of the 8 trucks , the head gasket went in the both of them. Any info would be nice thanks.
There have been some reported but most seem related to tuners& mods such as fuel boxes. the most common problem in my area for 6.0 work trucks is turbo failure, especially if worked hard.
I got mine fixed but it took 10K of goin at it with the stealership and almost burning my motor up to get them to replace a head and both head gaskets. The new design gaskets are GREAT as I've not lost a drop of coolant since they were fixed and my ole lady runs the wheels off the truck (and lots of them hemi's too )
If I understand right the Head Gaskets have been redesigned as well as the bolts and torque specs? Mine is in the shop getting them replaced right now.
My truck had the "white spots" under the hood from day one. Of course with the SCMT on HP tune it would loose a lot more coolant.
I wonder how it'll hold up with the new gaskets and such.
I have 33k on my 04 so far.
How difficult is it to pull and clean the EGR valve?
If the EGR is dirty would that over heat the coolant even more?
I haven't left mine unplugged because the CEL drives me nuts.
