Its too late for him to apply a 'cure and seal' product. Most cure and seal products are membrane forming, and you really shouldn't apply them to an already cured surface.
Calcium chloride is by far less damaging to concrete. Usually it is marketed as, a 'safety' melt. Or as 'grass-friendly'. be very careful when applying calcium cloride though. If it is applied in too heavy a concentration, it will form an extremely slippery oily film.
