need some fuel help

okay, we finally got our 1995 PSD back from our neighbor, who did a brake job (new rotors, pads, lines, calipers, everything.) i had a wix filter (dont remember the part number, 3XXXX something. it was yellow with a brown end that was supposedly able to attach to the cap. however when i took the remains of the old one off (read below) it wouldnt pop in. it isnt the right one. also the lid is cracked. i would appreciate it if someone gave me the part number (wix preferably) for the fuel filter assy plus the cap and o-ring.

ok, now the horror story. i took the lid off, and on the cap, i was shocked. there was the metal top part of the filter, with about 1/4'' of black tarry-gunk on the part of the element that was left. i wonder where the rest of the filter went? through the injectors? they are probably ruined too. it still runs, but it doesnt start in cold. needs GPR and new GP's. i went to start it tonight and it wouldnt fire, lots of white smoke, cycled the injectors 7-10 times before cranking, repeated this on and off for 20 minutes and no fire. in the near future i will be getting new GP's, and a GPR. now it looks like a new set of injectors too. plus we are getting a 3''DP, and straight piping the exhaust, deleting the cat and having a downturn after the cab. where is the best price for the injectors and GPR/glow plugs? i dont need new injectors, remanned ones or good shape used ones (maybe someone who switched out to larger ones) will be fine, as long as they work.

ok i have heard this trucks horror stories for quite a while now. i seriously doubt you need new injectors. doesnt the truck only have 80k on it??? i would test the gp's and gpr you may get away with only replacing it. fwiw and i am not the only 1. my original gp's were still good at 122,000 when i changed them(i know i was a newbie back then) with th exception of 1 that was burnt out. not sure if you are looking for the oem cap for the fuel filter or the aftermarket one that comes with a lid.

i buy my filters(wix) same as ford and napa from fleetfilter. cheapest i have found and a site sponsor. get that beast a 6637 while your at it.(i know you know all this)

Fuel Filter Lid
(International) 1825190C91

Fuel Filter
(Baldwin) PF7678
(International) 1822631C91
(Motorcraft) FD4595
(Racor) IN F4595

i would suggest a gpr 109 from napa 23.00 bucks or the heavy duty stancor for 53.00.

if you need any more obs help let me know....btw bean can rebuild your injectors to stock for a hell of a lot cheaper than remans(a couple hundred i am guessing since new plunger, barrels and pistons are about 480.00), or buy some stage 1's for 700.

yes, we already have a 6637 on it, i just put it on when i got it back now it is on the job and it won't start, it is smoking out the nursing home community (literally) with white smoke. i bet 6 or 7 GP's dont light. we are going to go plug it in for 3-4 hours, so we can move out away from the main entrance...

it is good knowin that it probably isn't injectors.
