I saw there is a chat function on this website, so I figured I would try it out. I think it doesnt work though, all I got was a black screen. Does anyone ever go to the chat, and does it work?
I guess you just go in there and wait for someone to show up. I never been there either, the most I ever seen was 1 guy chatting when I noticed. I'll go pound some keys with you for a while, if you want.
I been there a while now, typing things in and changing channels. Looks like a big black hole to me. Also, the main page still says no one is chatting.
Same here I brought up the Java console window and everytime I hit one of those buttons on the right side of the black hole, like the change channel or show users button, it puts an error message on the Java console window that says something like null pointer exception error, whatever that means....
I got IE 6. Would rather have 5.0, but everytime I install something, I get updated to 6.0 and I'm tired of fighting it. So, here I am. I hear opera is good though. I used it a couple times and the nice thing about it is you can save your exact spot online, so when you start back up, you go right where you left off. Like if you have lots of pages open, its really useful.
The reason I bring up browser problems, I had trouble logging on when I first signed up. I mailed Ken and got this reply: Make sure Zone Alarm and IE aren't blocking "REFERER"
information. Usually, its caused by the privacy
settings in IE blocking it. IE 6.x is the only browser
this is a problem with.

But the problem turned out to be META REFRESH, a security setting in IE that prevents pages from redicting you w/o your consent. So, I had to enable that in order to use this site.
I had trouble being able to post a message when I first came on here, it was because I refused to accept a cookie from this site one time and my browser remembered that decision every time I came here. I had to go in and remove them from the list.
Yeah, I don't mind cookies, they easy to wipe. Just about every site is picky about those. I just block all the third party ones, haven't had any trouble.
You know what really gets me going though? These Aholes out there that have nothing better to do than seach the net looking for "holes" in security that they can take advantage of. I get atleast 10 alerts everynight, sometimes 100's. Alot are just Kaza users, but some are looking for SMTP servers or SQL. It doesn't help that microsoft sells their stuff with all the doors and windows open, just to make it easy for people to set it up (in my opinion, it just makes it harder because you have to then go find all the open doors and figure out how to close them). One could blame microsoft for all the DOS attacks, they the ones that filled the world with swiss cheese.
By the way http://www.bitdefender.com/scan/licence.php has a good online scanner that picks up many trojans as well as viruses. I usually jump offline before I let it scan though, right after it downloaded. No, I'm not paranoid
