Well, I finally decided on a cam, and ordered it before I could change my mind again. I got the smaller Summit (204/214*, .479/.504"). I searched a bit on this forum and found that others who had used this cam were able to use their stock valvesprings. I figured it would be a good idea to go ahead and replace them though, just for peace of mind, so I also ordered the Edelbrock Performer set, thinking that would be a step above stock.
However, the notes with the springs say that the clearance between the retainer and valve guide seal is ".460+.050 / .480+.050," and there should be a minimum of max valve lift plus .050.
Should I be worried? The numbers they give happen to match the lift of the Edlebrock cam exactly, by the way.
