Rule question

Can I invite FTE members to a gtg put on by another Ford truck site. I'm not trying to recrute FTE members away from this place. Heck I think FTE is the better of the 2 sites. Its a gtg near Nashville at Mongemery Bell state park. We will be at the inn. The GTG will be all day Dec 10 & 11. Some guys will be there Friday night. You can get a discount coupon for a room at the tn state park website. Its for $42 a night. Normal rates are $69 a night.
I'm asking this because I';ve seen FTE members from the middle of Tn ask about GTGs. If you want to meet some Ford truck nuts come on by. If this post is improper Greywolf delete it. I don't know if its ok or not but anyone that can make it is welcome.

I think that if FTE members can take advantage of such a meeting it's all to the good. Nothing I know of says anywhere that you can't go wherever you want, and if it encourages an FTE turnout - sure, why not?

I suppose I could whine and moan about why THEY are not coming to OUR GTG, but everything comes with time. Besides - maybe you can infiltrate them, and give us the benefit of what you find out!

Hey Greywolf I know some of the members of the other club I'm in would be happy to support a FTE GTG. BTW Alabamabuddog,Randys92F150 & myself are in both groups. I'm just trying think a way to get as many Ford truck addicts together as possible. I believe if we work together & get a decent number of folks to a meet we will get the ball rolling to where we can work our way up to monthly or bimonthly GTGs. This s just a idea I thought I'd run by the chapter to see how the members like it. Should we give it a try after the holidays are over?
I'll cook up a good batch of deer chili for the GTG if anyones interested.

Would one of these other GTG's be the Music City F100s?

Yes its one of them. The F100 nationals in Knoxville is another one. Shades of the Past is another show I try to see also. I'll post up any truck meet I hear about. We have a huge meet every yr at Stone Mountian Ga. We invite members from all 3 american truck clubs to this one. Its in its 4th yr. We need to get our local members to show as a group at some of the local events in Memphis. The local SVT club has a show every yr. I know the Thursday night cruise ins will return in May. We have plenty of events. We need to get away from these computers & get to know our local members. I'll admit I was a little worried about what my first meet would be like. It was great & I was hooked. I don't mind driving 500 or more miles to meet the great kind of people I've met in the last 4 yrs

I was wondering if the Music City F100s was one of the other clubs you belonged to that was meeting. I here they put on a truck show in the summer. What's it like. The Supernationals are getting too big, and I don't like Knoxville near as much as Pigeon Forge.

Didn't Shades of the Past open up to later model vehicles? Of course I'll bet that Pigeon Forge is blazing hot in August!!

An update on the FTE policy about inter-site G2G's:

Okay, here's the official standing on this:

Users may post announcements to get-togethers on other sites. Keyword is "announcement." If they want to discuss planning the event, setting it up, etc., or use FTE to actively to other sites then it doesn't belong. There was a recent announcement in one of the forums that was pulled last week because it turned into a month long planning discussion for someone elses site, when the planning should take place there.

When it warms up, I'll look for something we can do, I hope to buy the wife and myself a 12 month pass to Bultmore House next year, I love to make pictures of historical places, that place is a great backdrop for pictures. There are stables, flowers, trails, the huge house and a winery, you can buy the wine in many pacage stopres now, I'd like to buy some there.

I wish I had gotten pictures of Colonial Williamsburg while I was still in Virginia. I ought to see what I can find out about historic sites around Memphis.
Other than Graceland, that is...

Thanks for the clarifaction Greywolf. I'd never promote another group on this site. I was just trying to get more people at GTGs. 54 I got involved with the Shades of The Past group at their Lake Degray meet in Ark. I was the roadie for the band they hired each yr for about 8 yrs until the band broke up. I love the old rides these folks have. Most are driven to the meets with very few trailor queens in the bunch. I don't know if they have changed the yr models to newer than 49s but I haven't been to the show in 2 yrs. I'm not a member of many auto groups I'm just a old car addict. I do belong to the Memphis SVT club & another Ford truck club that FTE blocks the name of for some reason. This is FTEs site & rules & I'll never try to post the other site again.

Mark has a good idea with a Shiloh meet. The Pickwick state park is close & is a great place for a GTG. Its only a few miles to the battleground but plan about 2 days to see the place. Its huge & full of great things to see. My son & I took bicycles & toured the park on them. We had a good time there. If we have a meet there I'll bring my boat & we can do some fishing on Pickwick too.

Sounds good. I wish I could make it with one of my own bikes. I toured Williamsburg on a bike, and it was a blast! Next best thing to riding a horse, like in the old times.
