Has anyone ever tried these tires? They are supposed to be a good on/off road tire. I looked at them at the tire store here, and they look really good. I just wondered if anyone has used them and what they think about them before I drop 176 bucks per tire....

BTW, they are going on my daily driver 2000 F150 that does see off road action during hunting season. Mostly mud and ruts.

Are you looking at the a/t's or the m/t's? I was going to put the destination m/t's on my pickup but they did not have them in stock but they had hankook dynamic m/t's which they said were the same thing but about 20 dollars cheaper. the tread looked exactly the same. I have had them for 6 months or so and they are alright. I think i should have gone with trxxus m/t instead. I couldnt get them in my home town and i had 2 flats.
I was looking at the m/t's. How is the wear on them? Like I mentioned before, this trucks sees the pavement as much as the mud. I just need something with some aggresive tread to help with the off-road, but wear good on the highway...
I have a friend that runs them on his chevy(some 28575R16s) or somthing real close, and he just bought another set and I couldn't belive how much they cost, but I have to say they are pretty aggresive, and I want to say he had about 50K + on his old set still with some tread left.
I run super swampers bias ply(36x13.50), but my truck doesn't see the road as much, and I'm fine with paying $165 a tire and only getting 30K miles.
I cant say much about wear as i have not had them long but i think i would look into those trxxus m/t's a little more if i was you. If i could do it over again i would pry have gotten them. They are supposed to be less noisy, good wear and better tire both on pavement and off. Maybe do a search on here for the trxxus m/t and maybe someone with them will help ya out more. My hankook m/t's were 99 a tire and they are 31x10.50's. I think the destination m/t's were about 120 a tire or so. So i would look into the hankook's more if ya dont like the trxxus m/t's. My pickup probably sees more pavement than mud as it is my only vehicle right now. I might be getting a mustang to drive daily (except during crappy weather in the winter etc). I need to get some lockers though. I am trying to convince myself (like that is going to be hard) to get some nice arb lockers. Then when i got stuck today in the snow and mud (fun combo ) i would have stood a better chance of getting myself unstuck. but i did actually get myself out after some digging with my hands and a few ideas . It was an interesting day as after i got stuck i got out and messed around and apparently when i got out i must have pushed the lock down with my elbow or something as i got out (with the pickup still running) to realize that the doors were locked and keys were inside. Im just glad i got a sliding back window lol. Maybe ill do some looking and see if i can find ya some info on those trxxus m/t's.
Do a search for trxus m/t and you will find quite a list of threads. I dont know where you live but if you deal with snow and ice i would lean more towards the trxus m/t. Sounds like a good tire to me... now wish i would have just went with them instead..lol. I may just have to go burn up my hankooks so i can get trxus m/t's lol. also there is a site that has a buy 3 get 1 free deal on interco tires. Sounds like a damn good deal to me

Thanks for the info. I'll look into the trxus tires as well. My truck also sees more pavement than mud, but when hunting season comes around, I am off road with it a good bit. I don't have to worry so much about snow here in central south carolina, but we do occasionally get some ice. Me and family also frequently take the truck to Minnisota and wyoming to visit family about once or twice a year and we see crappy winter roads.
another option to look at is getting a extra set of rims so you can just swap out the rims and tires during hunting season that way you can get years of use out of them.Just throwing out another option.
i thought about that, but I really don't want to go through the hassle. I figured if I could get 50-60K from a set of tires that meet my needs, that's acceptable.

I was reading about the trxxs, and I read somewhere that they are heaveier tires that are difficult to balance. Do you know how that may affect fuel milage/wear/ride? I do like them, and they are considerably cheaper, but if fuel milage has to be sacrificed, then that is something I really need to look at...
i have heard they are hard to balance. most of the people that got them say they dont ride bad and i think they wear pretty good (for a mud tire). Maybe someone that has some will help ya out more with that.
Trxxus M/T. I wouldn't see fuel milage being sacrafice, but what size tires do you want to put on about 31-33", then it shouldn't be much of any trouble to balance that tire. They have more plys and might be radials, I haven't looked at them in a while, but they are suposed wear really good and known for a really smooth and quiet ride, and great off road.
