I drive the truck home today and everything is fine. Running great. 45 minutes later I go to start it up to run an errand and it doesn't wanna start. It acts like a really low battery. The battery is 6 months old so I'm wondering what happened. I figure I'll put it in neutral and coast downhill to my garage. I find that the steering wheel is jammed and I can't shift out of park. So I do the old trick of pulling on the steering wheel to the left and then I can get out of park. I put it in neurtal and it starts right up. The problem is that it runs like shyte! It's knocking and making all sorts of noise and smoke! I figure it may be a computer problem so I disconnect the battery for a while, then reconnect it. No change when I start it back up. Still runs like shyte. No check engine light (yet). Any ideas where to start looking?
Frozen gas line maybe. Its cold there throw some dryer in it.
It may have something to do with timing. Maybe running rich. Funny how it all happened at once.
Another thought I had but you don't wana hear is I wonder if the engine has a gasket problem and antifreeze got into a cylinder causing hard turn over. And now running like crap. Check radiator for full..and I hope I'm wrong.
Yea lets hope it didn't hydro lock!
Take a peek at the dipstick looking for a milky situation.
Did you just buy fuel?
Chk all connections from bat to starter and so on.

Everything you guys suggested is OK. Fresh oil, still clean after 250 miles. 1/2 tank of gas filled up last week. Snow storm coming, what a pain in the ****. I appreciate the response.
Recently my battery had a full change and the truck would not start. Just heard the silonod clicking and the battery was only 11 months old. Well took it in to Autozoon where I bought it and it was bad. Hardly any amps to start my super-duty. Volts were there but no amps.

Well, the verdict is in. I threw a rod. I went to move it this morning and BANG, the noise I talked about earlier got 10 times worse and oil started pouring out under the engine. It's in the shop now. Since the rest of the truck is in excellent condition, I think getting a new engine is a viable option. What do you guys think? What should I expect to pay? <gulp>
