Air Filter
I'm taking my truck in for its 30K mile service tomorrow. Talked to the tech today at Rivertown Ford in Columbus, GA and he got pretty excited when I told him that I had not changed my air filter yet. I've had it checked at previous visits and the unreliable restriction gauge has not moved at all. What is the longest you should go without changing air filters under "normal" conditions? Am I way too late or what?

Also, do NOT buy your replacment filter at a dealer. They like to charge over $100 for one. You can get Motorcraft/Donaldson filters online for about $60, and wix replacements for $35.

thanks for the info. Normally I'm pretty good mechanically, but I've tried removing the filter before and that dang thing has kicked my butt!!! Is there a trick that I don't know? I've followed the tech folder closely, but can't seem to get the darn thing out.
