Question how did you apply your coating under the hood and does it cut the noise?? I will look at the article your talking about.

CWR, That's the Herculiner bedliner coating I purchased the gallon kit on sale. I coated the running boards, firewall, under the hood, under the cab floor. Yes it did quiet down the noise a lot, I want to purchase more to finish coating under the fenders. I used the supplied roller and paint brush to apply it. If you use it besure to follow the safety instructions and wear a paint resperator. That is some nasty stuff and will knock you on your behind if you don't use one. I couldn't even put the truck in the garage for 3 days because it stunk up the house so bad.

I won't say it's a better product it's just more affordable I paid $61.00 for the kit. Rino Lining is professionaly applied I had it put in a bed of a truck a few years ago and was not real satisfied with the results. I would go with Line-X if I were going to have it done again.
