Changing O2 sensor

Went to AutoZone to get "Service Engine Soon" lite checked out. He said it was the O2 sensor on bank 1. Then he tells me that I have 2 of them.
My questions... Where are they & how hard is it to change them? Will I be OK with just one or do I really need 2 ?

Difficult but not impossible job. There is a sensor before and after the catalytic converter on each side. Statistically it is the front sensor that goes bad. Spend a few minutes and spray some pb blaster or wd40 liberally on a COLD exhaust. Allow it to soak in for a while, and hopefully they will come right out. They are a simple wire connector and then screw the new one into place. Again coat the new sensor with some antiseize. You will need a special socket, available at most auto parts stores, and some time and patience. Expect to bloody some knuckles, but also expect some milage and possible performance gains if you replace all 4. DO NOT buy these from the factory, the BOSCH parts you will get at auto parts house are as good if not better.

I've not done mine, but it has been mentioned several times to access the upper (upstream) sensors through the wheel wells rather than from under the vehicle.

o2 sensors

I recently went to Adv. auto and they ran diagnostics on my vehicle and told me it was bank 1 and 2, o2 sensors. It was running like crap. Well, it wasn't the o2 sensors it was a vaccum hose.
