I don't want to come off as some half-cocked kid or a troublemaker, because I've been there and done that. As far as this membership business goes, maybe it would be a good idea to show some support to the creator of this web site. I agree that it was sudden, but I'm sure eventually it would have been made known, somehow, that this web site is bigger than anybody would have imagined. After all, this is THE premier web site on Ford Trucks and products. I've been following this site since 1998, but have just recently started submitting to the posts and threads. I, as anyone else can see, that, yes it's free, but someone, is paying the bills. I have never met or have spoken to Ken Payne, (BTW, we share the same first name), and I would like to congratulate him on a fine, outstanding job of undertaking a web site that I'm sure started as a hobby, but quickly consumed most, if not all, of his free time. It would only make sense to continue to expand F.T.E., just at what cost? Advertisers and sponsors only go so far. Who's going to pick up the slack? I can tell you about clubs and associations, as I belong to a few in the horse community. First there's an idea, then volunteers, sponsors and donations, eventually you'll need to collect for membership. This is the only way "clubs" can project and plan for any future endeavors. Without a little something from the users, (membership), most clubs cease to exist. There must be a little give, if there's going to be any take. Ken, my check's in the mail, and if you're ever thinking of opening a Denver, Colorado chapter, I'm your man. Ken Levy.
I am glad that my BS post on CLubFTE has turned into a positive surge of support towards FTE.I have always supported the site and volunterely moderate a forum, check it often.
My post on the Club deal got way the F**k ou6t of hand,All i ever made a issue of was the non member icon, thats it!
BUt then i get made out to be a non supportive particapant.
I have been coming here since membership was 4000 or so and now it's pushing 10.
I am sorry to Ken if i offended him on the matter,it wasn't my goal.
Hey Blue,
I can see your point about the icon, I was a little taken back at first but I got thinking about it and decided that it's actually pretty cool. No one has looked at me any different for not being a member. Take it easy.
I agree Ken. Even though I'm laid off presently, I sent 20 bucks in this morning. Just have to stretch that 12 pak out a little longer. Or maybe cut back on a couple of Marlboros. Anyway, it's a great site and I would like to contribute a little for all the info I get for my questions. Everyone has helped me quite a bit. Boy, I almost sound like a cheerleader. This is actually the first club that I've ever joined. I tried out for the cub scouts years ago but they kicked me out for eating brownies.

Just an afterthought.
I used to work with this guy named Terry. He was a refridgeration mechanic/HVAC and I was an electrician. We used to go to this bar called Archies in Hopkins, Mn after work for a couple of beers.
So, I'd be sittin' there having my Miller, and Terry would be swilling down his Budweisser, and all the while he'd be gripin' about how the price of gas had just gone way up to about $1.09 a gallon.
I didn't say anything at the time but I was figurin' it out in my head. Here's this guy complainin' about spending $1.09 for a
gallon of gas while he's shellin' out $2.25 for 12 0z. of beer.
At that rate, if beer was goin' for the price of gas, it would cost about $24.00 a gallon.
