Manual Tranny shift upgrade
Just got my 06 6.0L with Manual 6 speed tranny.. I love everything except the manual tranny shift.. What Bonehead engineer decided to put the shift that far left?? When it is in Low or Reverse your leg is in the way.. The shift needs to be 3 inches to the Right for comfort.. Also why did they put reverse way over to the left and up??
Current pattern is:
R 1 3 OD
L 2 4
It should be::
L 2 4 R
1 3 OD
Has any one done any mods to move the lever?? or is there an aftermarket lever that is better?? I don't need a speed shift just a regular one that doesn't dig into my leg..
Does anyone know if the stock shift is solid metal or hollow?? I was thinking of heating it with a torch then bending it over to the right??
