Smile 4x4 fixed!

For some time my 4wd would sometimes work sometimes not, I went over everything but the switch on the transfer case,Well I changed that sucker today (29 bucks from the ford dealer) and everything works grate now!!
Something to check if you’re having a similar problem.<O</O

Thanks for the tip

I assume you're talking about the switch on the front of the transfer case, sort of above the front driveshaft?

That’s the one Racerguy, simply unplug the pigtail and unscrew the switch out of the

Case, should be a 7/8” size wrench. It seam’s the little ball on the end gets stuck in just

A hair and cant make a good ground; therefore no signal goes to the vacuum solenoids on the firewall

I've seen them full of moisture too which also causes problems.

No doubt, the new switch definitely had a lot of thread sealer on it
and a good ruber seal on the plug end.

I have the same problem but there is a clicking noise in the front, did you have something like that.

With the old switch I got no sound, no lights in the dash…nothing

Now with the new switch, I here a single click coming from a relay (I think) under

The long oval cover on the dash and the 4x4 indicator lights now work, and the axels

Lock now.
