Sixer poll on head specific Q...
I need some data from those of you with '74 to '79 inline sixes (300). I live in CA and really need to find out what Ford was doing back in the old days for emissions with the 300 head. My engine (built in the twin cities) has no air injection ports bored and tapped into the head - I need to figure out if the simple air into the plenum under the carb will do the trick. I thought ford didn't start the air injection into the head untill after 79, but I found a '76 the other day with exactly that on it. If you guys could PLEASEEEE post what year you have, what state, and whether or not your running thermactor into the head, plenum, or neither. Many thanks in advance...

I had a 300 inline 6 motor from CA in my Twin Cities built '79 F-150. The head had the air injection ports in it but someone screwed bolts into them because here in MN we don't have emission tests. I did however swap on a new higer compression shaved head that didn't have the ports. I dunno what year the CA. 300 inline was, but the block is still sitting in my backyard.
I know I'm not much help, but anyways..
