Ok guys fixed all tranny issues thanks for all the input and suggestions, now I have a oil leak it looks like it was coming from tranny but it is definitely oil not tranny fluid but it is dripping from back of motor inbetween tranny and engine, I am going to really try and track it tomorrow any suggestions on where to look would be appreciated. 97 F-350 4X4 7.3 PSD E4OD Tranny.
a few things to check:
rear main (already mentioned)
hpo rail plugs the big ones on back of each head
turbo pedistal
the valley
small hpo oil rail plugs (brass)
ipr
icp
hpop
cut in oil pan from tranny inspection plate
soggy oil pan (most of the time requires engine removal)
Thanks guys I really appreciate the info. it is nice kinda knowing where to start, I do have one question regarding cut in the oil pan, do you mean cut like bleeding cut or are you talking about the inspection plate needing to be sealed. I know that sounds confusing but this is where it is leaking.
the inspection cover on the trannies have been known to wear holes in the oil pan. pull you inspection cover and see if you have a hole on the back of the pan. almost all leaks drain in this spot also from the valley and the back of the heads.
