I dont think my heater is working in my 2001 PSD. I did a continuity test by touching the prong end at the fog light location and got nothing, Then I pulled off the female end from the actual heater element above the oil filter and checked the element by touching the two prongs there and my tester beeped and has continuity there. So I then plugged in my truck with an extension cord as you would for a cold morning and got nothing ( no 120V )by checking the other end which connects to the element. So I believe its bad any other ideas or does that say it all and if the cord is bad what the hell goes wrong with them?? Can I buy just a cord or should I adapt a new cord onto the funky female end ford provides??

Yeah...the electrical cord is the most likely culprit. Just to be sure short out the female(orange) end with wire and check for continuity across the two flat prongs. Look at all contact points at both ends of cord. Your truck may still be under warranty so it's the dealers problem. On a good setup you'll read 15 ohms on an ohmmeter. The heater is 1000watts. Hope this helps.
